Tip #1 - Stay on the main corridor trails of the South Kaibab and Bright Angel trails, or hike up the North Kaibab to the closure and return. With the North Kaibab Trail still closed north of Manzanita Rest Area, alternative routes -instead of the traditional Rim-to-Rim hiking and/or running need to be well thought-out and planned. And we've had a fair share of rescues already! Grand Canyon National Park remains in stage 1 fire restrictions year-round which requires that a campfire always be in a designated fire ring within a maintained campground.
